Kids

Every child deserves a strong start. Legacy Martial Arts prepares your child not only to thrive on the mats, but to succeed in life !

Why choose Legacy Martial Arts for your child ?

Our academy teaches two completely different martial arts disciplines that are therefore highly complementary.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, focused on self-defense, ground work, and throws.

Kyokushin Budokai karate, focused on full-contact striking, leading towards MMA, while maintaining the spirit of martial arts.

  • Confidence That Lasts a Lifetime

From the timid to the tenacious, our academy is designed to help every child build self-esteem. Your child won’t just learn to defend themselves—they’ll develop the confidence to face challenges, both on and off the mat. Imagine a future where your child walks into any room like they own it—not because they’re arrogant, but because they’re capable.

  • Physical and Mental Strength Beyond Compare

Martial arts isn’t just about kicks and punches; it’s about strengthening the body and the mind. We ensure every session promotes not only athletic development but also mental clarity, focus, and stress management. Think of it as a dynamic workout for their brains and biceps.

  • A Positive, Safe, and Structured Environment

Let’s face it: kids need structure. In our academy, they’ll find a community that values respect, teamwork, and hard work—all while having fun ! It’s like the ultimate after-school activity, except instead of crayons and crafts, they’ll be learning life-saving skills and how to throw the occasional flawless roundhouse kick.

  • An Investment in Their Future

Sure, you could spend your money on the latest gaming console or another trendy gadget that’ll be forgotten in a week—but how about investing in something that actually grows with your child? At our academy, they’ll learn skills that outlast the latest tech and might even make you feel a bit safer when they start out-muscling you. Plus, imagine the satisfaction of having a kid who not only cleans their room (eventually) but can also execute a flawless armbar—parenting win, right?

Class organization

Children are divided into different age groups.

3-5 years old

6-8 years old

9-11 years old

12-15 years old

The training schedule allows children to participate in both disciplines.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

Kids learn jiu-jitsu to build discipline, confidence, and resilience, while gaining physical fitness, social skills, and a practical self-defense ability in a safe and supportive environment. The discipline learned through training can improve focus, patience, and overall motor skills. Additionally, the challenging yet rewarding nature of jiu-jitsu helps children develop strong character, good sportsmanship, and a positive attitude toward overcoming obstacles.

Discipline and Focus

  • Improved Focus:

Jiu-jitsu requires intense mental concentration, which helps children improve their ability to focus and pay attention in other areas of their lives.

  • Patience:

Learning new techniques and perfecting them takes time and repetition, teaching children the importance of patience and perseverance.

  • Channeling Energy:

Kids can learn to channel their excess energy into positive physical and mental activity, which can be particularly beneficial for those with high energy levels or conditions like ADHD.

Confidence and Resilience

  • Self-Esteem:

Mastering new skills and overcoming challenges on the mat builds self-esteem and self-confidence.

  • Overcoming Obstacles:

The process of learning jiu-jitsu involves facing and overcoming physical and mental challenges, which helps children develop resilience and a fear-tolerant attitude.

  • Developing a "Strong" Mindset:

By consistently facing difficult situations in a controlled setting, children become more mentally strong and less prone to being intimidated or giving up easily.

Physical and Social Development

  • Physical Fitness:

Training keeps kids active and healthy, leading to better physical strength, coordination, and reflexes.

  • Self-Defense Skills:

In a safe environment, children learn practical self-defense techniques, which can increase their awareness and ability to protect themselves if necessary.

  • Friendship and Respect:

Jiu-jitsu fosters a sense of team spirit, encouraging children to build friendships and learn to respect their training partners and instructors.

  • Good Sportsmanship:

Children learn the importance of good sportsmanship, including how to win and lose gracefully, and how to conduct themselves in a respectful manner.

Life Skills Beyond the Mat

  • Discipline as a Life Skill:

The discipline and focus developed through jiu-jitsu are valuable life skills that can be applied to their schoolwork, hobbies, and other aspects of life.

  • Character Building:

Beyond the physical aspects, jiu-jitsu is a tool for positive character development, helping to shape children into more confident, disciplined, and resilient individuals.

  • Unmatched Expertise You Can Trust

With over 25 years of teaching experience, a 4th-degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and mastery of Kyokushin Budokai and Mastro Defence System, your child will be trained by one of the most qualified instructors in the world. It’s not just martial arts—it’s an education in discipline, resilience, and self-defense crafted by a true master.
